Obverse

Variant A. Large equal-armed cross with expansions at the ends, with symmetrical decoration at the bottom in the form of acanthus leaves. Above the transverse arm are inscribed the initials IC - XC. Variant B. Often the letters are replaced by three or four dots, and the acanthus leaves are strongly curled inward and start from the ends of the horizontal arm of the cross, not from its base.

Reverse

Variant A. Half-length depiction of Tsar Ivan Alexander, with stemma with pendilia. He is dressed in divitision and maniakion. The end of the loros is thrown over His left arm. In His right hand He holds a sceptre with a cross, with a short handle, and in His left - an object with unclear depiction, most likely a globus cruciger or anexikakia. Without inscriptions. Variant B. The depiction is as in Variant A, but the Tsar holds the sceptre in His left hand.
