Obverse

Large equal-armed cross with arcuate expansions at the ends of the arms. In the upper segments are the initials IC - ХС in negative. At the bottom, the cross is further decorated with symmetrically arranged acanthus leaves.

Reverse

Tsar Ioan Alexander, standing, full-length, with stemma with pendilia. He is dressed in divitision and maniakion. The end of the loros is draped over His left arm. In His right hand He holds a sceptre with a cross, with a short handle, and in His left - anexikakia. To the left of the figure is the inscription ІАΛΛЄЗ, and to the right the abbreviation of the title царь - ЪҀЬ, and the end of the name - АНДРЬ.
