Obverse

Half-length depiction of the Virgin Agiosoritissa (Hodigitria), with a beaded nimbus around the head. She is dressed in a chiton and himation. Her hands are raised in prayer upwards. In the field on both sides are the initials (МР - ΘV) and a partial legend АГНА СО. Below the image are two multi-rayed stars.

Reverse

The Tsar, standing full-length, with a stemma with pendilia, beard and moustache. He is dressed in divitision and maniakion. Draped over his left hand, holding anexikakia, is a loros, and with his right hand raised high he holds a sceptre with a long shaft ending in a cross, which is inscribed in a circle. Legend: К/ОС/ТА/Н/Д - Ч/ЛС/(Ть)/Н. In the fields are depicted three six-rayed stars.
