Obverse

Half-length image of Jesus Christ, beardless (Emmanuel), with a nimbus around the head, in which a cross is inscribed. On each arm of the cross there are five pearls. Christ is dressed in a chiton and sindon. In His left hand He holds a scroll, and with His right hand He blesses in front of His chest. In the field on both sides of the head are the initials ІС - ХС, below which are depicted two crosses strongly resembling lilies.

Reverse

Tsar Konstantin Asen, standing full-length, with a stemma with pendilia. The Tsar has a beard and mustache. He is dressed in a sakkos. Over his shoulders and arms is draped a loros, the ends of which are decorated with four large pearls each. In his right hand he holds a labarum with a short handle, and in his left hand a globus cruciger. On both sides of the figure is a semicircular inscription КО СТА - НДИНЧѲ, starting to the right of the head.
