Obverse

Variant A. Double-headed eagle with outstretched wings. On the heads are depicted tricuspid crowns. Between them in the center is placed a multi-rayed star. Variant B. The image is as in Variant A, but in the center between the heads of the eagle is placed a trefoil. Variant C. The image is as in Variant A, but there is no sign between the heads.

Reverse

Tsar Ioan Stratsimir, standing, full-length, with stemma with pendilia. He is dressed in divitision and maniakion. The ends of the loros are thrown over His arms. With His right hand He holds a sceptre with a cross, with a short handle, and in His left hand He holds before His chest a globus cruciger (?). On both sides of the figure are monograms: on the left СР М, and on the right the abbreviation of the title царъ - ЧР. In the field below are depicted two multi-rayed stars.
