Voysil„despot of Mysia”
Brother of tsar Smilets, proclaimed despot at his accession. One of the three brothers who held the Sredna Gora domain around Kopsis. After 1300 he entered Byzantine service. In 1322, following the death of George II Terter, he seized the lands between Sliven and Kopsis and styled himself despot of Mysia, acting in alliance with Andronikos III. Michael III Shishman Asen forced him to withdraw to Byzantium and restored Bulgarian control over Kopsis.
