Biography
Andronikos Asen was a son of the panhypersebastos Isaac Asen and bore the high court rank of grand primikerios. As a cousin of Emperor John V Palaiologos he was a prominent courtier in the third quarter of the fourteenth century.
Together with his father he enjoyed the rights over the monastery of the Virgin, inherited through the line of Isaac's first wife. According to one account, the grand primikerios Andronikos accompanied Emperor John V Palaiologos on his journey to Rome and Venice in 1369. He is mentioned until around 1383.
