Biography
Philippa Asenina was a daughter of Demetrios Asen and a sister of Tomais Asenina. In 1349 she was still a minor when she was married to a priest — a marriage into a family far less significant than that of the Asens, a fact that in itself calls into question the high social standing of her father.
