Demetrios Asen

Demetrios Asen is known from three documents of the Athonite monastery of Xeropotamou, which present him as the owner of estates (fields and vineyards) in Chalkidike. He died shortly before July 1349, leaving the monastery part of his property in return for maintenance and perpetual commemoration.

His membership of the Asen family is not entirely certain — Ivan Bozhilov notes that his modest social standing does not fully match that of the family. If he is an Asen, he is of the second generation and had two daughters — Tomais and Philippa Asenina.
