Biography
Avraam Asen Palaiologos was a son of Michael Asen and a grandson of Tsar Ivan Asen III (John III Asen), a brother of Yaroslav. He belonged to the Serbo-Byzantine branch of the family, settled there after his father's emigration to Serbia.
His name, together with that of his brother Yaroslav, is preserved in marginal notes in the so-called Saray Codex of the Octateuch — one of the few testimonies to this second generation of Asens, born around 1305–1310.
