Biography

Anna came by birth from the eminent Byzantine Goudeles family (a sister of George Goudeles) and acquired the names Asenina and Palaiologina through her marriage. She was the wife of the eparch Isaac Asen, grandson of the panhypersebastos Isaac Asen.

In the sources she is called an "aunt" of Emperor Manuel II Palaiologos. From her marriage to Isaac Asen she had a son, Andrey Asen, and a daughter. She is mentioned in documents between about 1393 and 1400.
